The name NIWAAFA represents the NIGERIAN WOMEN AGRO ALLIED FARMERS ASSOCIATION, comprising of all women farmers in both agro cropping, processing, fishery, and marketing.
The association was formed in the year 2006 by four women farmers from the major tribes of Nigeria, South-South, southeast, southwest, and north-central.
